The Weekly is in the running for a national ACP award!

I just Googled my name, “Tom Lany”, just to see what our friends in California would send my way. I’ll admit, I do it from time to time.

The first page was all of the normal stuff: tomlany.net, Tom Lany commenting on people’s websites, etc.

When I got to the second page, though, I saw something interesting. My name was associated with “ACP – Contest Winners”. “Hmm, what’s that” I thought.

I clicked the link, and discovered that The Weekly (The Gustavus Adolphus College student newspaper where I work) was selected as a finalist in the Associated Collegiate Press Online Pacemaker competition. This is the big national award for online student publications. I was excited to see our site on the list. What a great (and exciting) way to start the day!
