I am all over the web! Take a look at some of the web projects that I have worked on. Let me know if you would like to know more, or if you think I could be of assistance with your project.
The Gustavian Weekly
I redesigned The Gustavian Weekly’s website during the summer of 2009, and currently serve as the Web Editor. In this capacity, I edit and post web content on a weekly basis, moderate comments, manage the design, and develop tools to efficiently integrate content from multiple channels. The website won a fifth place award at The Associated Collegiate Press 2010 Best of Midwest journalism convention, and is a 2010 Online Pacemaker finalist.
Gustavus’ Day at the Capitol
In the spring of 2010, I worked with Marketing and Communication and Web Services at Gustavus Adolphus College to establish a new webpage and produce a promotional video for Day at the Capitol, a day in which college students from around Minnesota visit the state capitol to advocate for state support of need-based scholarships.
Sigma Sigma Sigma at Gustavus
I worked with the Sigma Sigma Sigma fraternity at Gustavus to restructure and update web content, and completely redesign their website.
Sliding through summer
What started out as a poem for a Creative Writing course morphed into a community art project. The interactive piece allows visitors to submit a line for the poem. A line is pulled out of a database at random near the bottom of the poem.
JingleTom.com
JingleTom.com is the home of my creative musical endeavors. I have always enjoyed listening to creative radio commercials, and decided to try my hand at making some. Jingles are included here at tomlany.net. Visitors to JingleTom.com are brought right to the jingle section.
Stopbulkmail.com
I developed Stopbulkmail.com to inform consumers about the problems with bulk mail as a part of my Public Discourse class at Gustavus.
Zephyrus
I served as the Zephyrus webmaster during the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 school years. Zephyrus is the student newspaper at Edina High School in Edina, MN. I filled more that 500 individual pages with stories and images from the print version of the newspaper. While the layout has since changed, you can view the website I maintained here.
Windigo
I wrote the content for the Windigo yearbook website at Edina High School. I also designed or edited most of the forms on the site.
